Modern Mitzvah Design: Elegant Gray Draping & Decor in Beverly Hills

Step into a stunning Mitzvah at The Maybourne Beverly Hills. This all-gray, monochromatic sibling celebration for Olive and Hudson highlights modern event design with elegant draping, custom décor, and a refined furniture layout.

Draping & Styling

Our Senior Event Designer, Milana, worked closely with planners to transform the ballroom into a fully immersive event space. The venue was divided into two areas: an entrance room and the main ballroom.

We installed over 750 feet of custom gray draping throughout both spaces, bringing the monochromatic Mitzvah theme to life. The soft layers of two-tone gray chiffon drape, created depth while maintaining a clean modern look.

Upon entrance, guests walked through flowing draping paired with dim, ambient lighting. This created a dramatic and elegant first impression, setting the tone for the entire event.

As guests entered the main ballroom, they were met with a statement draping installation cascading from the balcony to the first floor. This added movement, texture, and a sense of grandeur to the space.

Custom Bar Feature

The custom bar design served as a focal point of this modern Mitzvah. Our New York bar was wrapped in custom gray velvet fabric, paired with our Tiffany wood panels, and finished with a custom print between the shelves. To enhance the atmosphere, we added sconces on each side of the bar. We also incorporated a custom “OH” vinyl print, branding the space with the siblings’ initials and tying the design into the overall event theme.

Furniture & Layout

The furniture layout focused on both style and functionality, creating a space that felt open, modern, and inviting. We incorporated circular ottomans and coffee tables to soften the layout and encourage flow throughout the room. The Berlin serpentine sofas acted as a central design feature, adding a sculptural and unique element to the space. Low cocktail tables were paired with Vancouver dining chairs featuring a chrome finish. This added a sleek, contemporary contrast while maintaining the elegant gray color palette.
