Some design stories start with color. This one, however, started with a pattern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you\u2019re searching for how to plan a mid-century modern wedding, this celebration is all the inspiration you need. It blends bold color, nostalgic pattern, and elevated design into a fully immersive experience\u2014rooted in vintage influence but executed with modern luxury.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As Pyrex makes its comeback, it\u2019s reintroducing a new generation to mid-century design\u2014where even everyday objects become iconic. Inspired by that retro era, we translated those familiar shapes and patterns into a refined wedding aesthetic at Rolling Greens in Downtown Los Angeles.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our CEO, Romina, worked closely with wedding planner Irene Boujo<\/strong>, visiting prop houses to source specific designs and silhouettes that would bring the vision to life. For the stage we drew inspiration from the Parker Hotel, with a custom design cutout to match similar playful shapes. We placed our custom orange velvet lamps for the ceiling, featuring octagonal shades. The Pyrex theme was carried throughout the space with a variety of shapes and bold colors to fit the mid century modern theme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The couple themselves added another layer of personality. Groom Joey, a chef, and bride Cassidy, a talented baker, curated a dessert display that celebrated both of their passions. In a fun twist, they even served breakfast for dinner\u2014one of their favorite meals. Thoughtful details were everywhere, including a bubble gum machine stocked with Lactaid pills for guests who might need them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even the place settings doubled as keepsakes. As Irene shared, \u201cThe pillows on the chairs with each guest\u2019s name served as their place cards. The guests all took them home and sent us photos of where they placed them in their homes.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Translating Mid-Century Influence into Event Design<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

To begin, planner Irene Boujo used Pyrex as the creative foundation. She translated its signature patterns and layered textures into a cohesive design rooted in mid-century design, while still feeling playful and refined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From there, we developed a directional mood board to define color, pattern, and materiality. With this vision in place, the venue was designed with intention\u2014bringing the concept to life through a modern lens of mid-century design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cocktail Hour: Setting the Tone<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

At the start of the evening, the cocktail hour introduced the concept through two custom bars<\/a>. Each featured floral patterns inspired by classic Pyrex designs, while contrasting barbacks added structure and depth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Curated lounge groupings\u2014featuring Cartagena sofas<\/a>, black-and-white club chairs<\/a>, and Maui coffee tables<\/a>\u2014balanced comfort with a clean, mid-century design, and modern aesthetic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reception Design: Layer, Texture, Atmosphere<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

As guests moved into the reception, the design unfolded into a richly layered environment. Overhead, custom fabric lamps<\/a> were suspended across 500 feet of orange velvet draping<\/a>, adding warmth and dimension.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time, Florence round wood tables<\/a> and geometric rugs<\/a> grounded the space, reinforcing the timeless structure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Statement Moment<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

At the center of it all, a 28-foot custom laser-cut stage backdrop<\/a> anchored the room. Inspired by the Parker Hotel in Palm Springs, it felt both architectural and deeply personal. This focal installation tied the entire concept together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Final Thoughts<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Ultimately, this was more than a themed wedding. Instead, it reimagined how nostalgia can shape a modern luxury event experience through the lens of mid-century design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
