Elegant Oceanfront Wedding

May 23, 2014 11:53 am Published by The Revelry Team

This elegant oceanfront wedding took place in Malibu with Mindy Weiss. For cocktail hour, we used mixed high and low seating with custom chair covers with our Framed Wood Mirror Bar. The purple accent was used through out the entire wedding. Inside we used pieces from our lounge collections including our Alexandria Collection and the Square Bed. The dinner reception included several chandeliers and booth seating around the outside of the room. The after party was furnished with a hi-gloss bar in the center of the room and a fun disco ball centerpiece where guests danced all night! What a great way to end a beautiful wedding! This tangerine and turquoise Mindy Weiss post-wedding brunch at a private estate in Malibu was beach chic. We created a custom-made tangerine bar that sat underneath a gorgeous Raj Tent and we decorated with some feminine white lounge furniture, ottomans and wood tables to complete the look. Mark’s Garden designed some stunning florals in tangerine, fuchsia, brown and green that were completely unique and perfect for this party.   Photographer: Elizabeth Messina Venue: Private Estate in Malibu Decor: Revelry Event Designers Tents: Raj Tents Floral Design: Mark’s Garden Rentals: Classic Party Rentals Planner: Mindy Weiss Party Consultants

We’ve worked with Levine Fox Events for years and we love them! We thought we’d sit down with Diane and Alyson to talk about what makes them such a successful team.   Revelry: We know you are a mother/daughter team. But how did you come to be event planners? I was lucky to learn the “biz” through my day to day experiences and from the variety of events that we produced. When that company was sold, Alyson, my daughter, and I decided to partner together and, in... Read More

The Art of Transformation: Part 3, Seating

Let’s talk about my favorite: the lounge, where guests can relax and linger over a drink and conversation. I’m going to show you how to create a fabulous lounge for your next party at home. We’ve all heard the expression “Mi casa es su casa. My house is your house,” but few people in their right mind stroll around spouting “me cama es su cama,” or “my bed is your bed.” I can, however, think of one instance where it might not be so inappropriate. The next time you’re hosting a party with a lounge, why not borrow your bed (double or larger) for the evening. Place the box spring and mattress (leave the frame in the bedroom) in the... Read More
